The Big4 Lottery committee are holding an open meeting at the library on Tuesday 4th Feb between 5pm and 7pm.
Over the past year the committee has identified several areas within the community that could be improved with help from the £1m lottery grant. These areas include estate environment, health and well- being, help for those with disabilities, employment, finance advice, lifelong learning, crime and community safety, community facilities, leisure activities for all ages and housing and planning issues.
The committee itself doesn’t feel able to do justice to all these topics and is looking for additional people who can advise or help.
The committee is already making a start and is hoping to develop the scrubland alongside Beverley Road into a landscaped area with trees and is also looking into the possible creation of allotments at the eastern end of Louviers Road. If you are concerned about our environment, both on the estate and in the surrounding countryside would you lend a hand?
Have you experience or knowledge of health and well-being issues or cared for adults and children with disabilities?
Do you have job or lifestyle skills you can share or pass on to others or perhaps help someone with learning difficulties?
Would you like to get involved in community safety and the prevention of crime?
Could you help set up art groups or sports and leisure activities of all kinds, both indoor and outdoor?
Do you want a voice in future housing and planning in and around Littlemoor?
Have you any ideas that could make life in Littlemoor so much better for all?
If the answer to any of the above is yes then please come along to the meeting on the 4th February.
Even if you doubt you can help in any of these activities volunteers are still needed who are willing to give a little of their time to help in this major project. The more of us that take part, the easier the tasks will be. It would only take a few hours a month to help improve the lives of everyone in Littlemoor and build a community to be proud of.
So please make a note in your diaries- Tuesday 4th Feb 5pm to 7pm at the library.
Littlemoor needs you! Together we can do it!
