A WEYMOUTH mum has graduated from Bournemouth University and now is off to study in Plymouth.
Ashleigh Allan’s family say they are so proud of her after she graduated from her public services course last month.
She has now won a place to continue her studies into public services at Plymouth University.
Proud mum Sarah Allan said: “Her graduation was one of the proudest days of my life.”
Mum Sarah said that at 16 years old Ashleigh found out she was eight months pregnant with her ‘absolutely adorable’ son Alfie, now five.
Her mum said the discovery came as a surprise and Ashleigh, who was at Budmouth College at the time, didn’t pass her exams.
Ashleigh heard about a public services course at Bournemouth University and wanted to do it.
She did a Access to Higher Education Course and applied to Bournemouth.
She is now hoping to go into midwifery after her latest course.
Proud mum Sarah said that the whole family went to her graduation and they were all so proud of her achievements.
She said: “I’m so amazingly proud of her. I was in tears the whole way through the graduation.
“Alfie is very proud of his mum.”
Sarah added: “It goes to show what anyone can do if they put their mind to it.”
