A DORCHESTER couple who met at work celebrated their big day surrounded by their friends and family.
Rachel Legg, 36, and Andrew Dorrington, 42, met while both working at Tesco in the county town.
Andrew booked a weekend away to London to take Rachel to see her favourite band Westlife at the O2 arena. He emailed the management of the band to try and enlist the boyband’s help to propose to Rachel on stage, but they did not get back to him in time, so he proposed after the concert instead. The couple married in Charminster church and had their reception at the TA centre in Dorchester.
It was an emotional moment when Rachel walked down the aisle. Her father, Les, 79, had recently lost a leg and when the couple got engaged he promised Rachel he would walk her down the aisle, which is exactly what he did, using his new prosthetic.
The first dance was to Westlife’s Flying Without Wings.
Andrew said: “We wanted everyone to come along and enjoy themselves and be there with us.”
The couple spent their honeymoon in Italy at Lake Garda.
The happy couple would like to thank everyone who helped to make their big day so special, particularly Rachel’s sister Diane.
