CROWDS of people turned up to support Cattistock Christmas Bazaar, trying to find some bargains and generally get into the Christmas spirit. It was an ideal opportunity to relax with friends over a drink and a cake, or to see if you might be lucky on the tombola or raffle.
For children the highlight of the afternoon was the arrival of Father Christmas and the chance to give him some hints as to what to leave in the stocking on Christmas Eve!
CATTISTOCK Lawn Tennis Club will be holding its Grand Christmas Draw in the Fox and Hounds at 8.30pm on Thursday, December 19.
There are lots of fantastic prizes to be won, so hurry to buy your tickets from tennis club members, Cattistock Village Stores or the Fox and Hounds. Do come along at 7pm to enjoy traditional Christmas carols and lessons by candlelight.
The Crib Service will be held at 4.30pm on Sunday, December 22, when adults and children dress up as nativity characters to create a life size tableau.
There will be a communion service at 11am on Christmas Day, when children are invited to bring along a present they have opened to say thanks.
YEOVIL Brass Band will be leading the carol singing around the village of Evershot on Friday December 20.
Please meet at the village hall at 6.30pm with torches and warm clothing THE CAROL Service in Chilfrome will be held on Monday, December 23.
All families and friends will be especially welcome on this joyous occasion.
EVERSHOT Christmas Eve Carol Service takes place on Tuesday December 24 at 6.30pm.
Don’t miss this wonderful candlelit service of carols and readings, followed by mulled wine and mince pies.
Children are invited to dress as though for a nativity play (should they so wish) and then to gather around the crib to sing a carol during the service.
IN THE excitement of Christmas, don’t forget about keeping warm at home and organising your oil supplies! The Chimes Oil Group Syndicate (COGS) will be accepting its next order straight after the holiday period on Friday, January 3.
Please telephone on that date only for your oil requirements or email prior to that date. Please be accurate with the amount of oil to be delivered and remember that oil cannot be delivered in less than 500 litres quantity to any household. The next date will be Friday, February 7.
Ensure that all addresses, telephone numbers and emails are correct and that you are available for contacting on the Monday afternoons following the oil order date, so that you can be provided with the usual information for you to deal with payments.
