CONGRATULATIONS to the team Town and Country for their well-deserved win in the recent Rampisham Quiz. The team, made up of members from Weymouth (town) and Rampisham (country) fought off some fierce opposition to come first in this very popular annual event.

Thanks go to all who arranged and ran the quiz, organised the raffle and provided a wonderful spread of food.

FATHER Christmas arrives at the Annual Christmas Bazaar in the Savill Hall, Cattistock, at 2.30pm on Saturday, December 7.

Stalls will include gifts, plants, cakes, books, produce, bric-a-brac, toys, games, a raffle, tombola and much more.

The event is being held in aid of insurance for the Church of St Peter and St Paul in Cattistock.

MAIDEN Newton Village Hall is the venue for this year’s Christmas meal on Saturday, December 7. The time is 7 for 7.30pm.

Tickets cost £10 for adults and £5 for children. For this you will receive a 4-course meal with all the trimmings as well as entertainment. Please bring your own drink along.

EVERSHOT Christmas Bazaar takes place at St Osmond’s Church from 2 until 4pm on Saturday, December 7.

There will be a variety of stalls, as well as mulled wine and mince pies. Admission is free.

THE BIG QUIZ takes place in Melbury Osmond Village Hall on Friday, December 13, the most feared date in history! Myths, legends and superstitions make up the theme for the occasion, so see how original you can make your costume!

Please arrive at 7pm for a 7.30 start.

Tables should be made up of 6 people at a cost of £6 per person. This includes a light supper.

There are 10 categories of questions to be answered. Paper and pencils will be provided and there will be a well-stocked bar. There will also be a grand raffle organised by the new chairman.

THERE will be a Festive Quiz in the Fox and Hounds, Cattistock, at 7.30pm on Saturday, December 14.

There are some great prizes to be won and all money raised will go to Heartbeat House.

The service will be followed by traditional fare of mince pies and mulled wine. The draw for the Christmas Raffle prizes will also take place at this time.
