I put out eight different containers for collection on rubbish day: three paper, two plastic, one tins, one general, one food waste.
God knows how the people get on without the storage space to accommodate these smelly bins, for example, those in Chiswell on Portland. Why is there not a recycling plant at the brickyard at Chickerell where once a week we have a collection, one bin encompassing all of our rubbish, which is then sorted by machine, rather than the householder who hasn’t got a clue.
The amount of green containers in high winds going down our street is a joke, and the lorry, with its up and over movement for loose paper, leaves more than it picks up.
We haven’t got the road sweepers any more so why create litter when the refuse collection is meant to pick it up?
