  • It is that time of year again where we all start getting a little sentimental about the festive season. On Saturday November 16, St. Paul's church, Abbotsbury Road, had a Christmas Bazaar and raised a fabulous £2,250.

Santa was there in his grotto with a huge queue of eager children (and the odd teenager) waiting to see him.
There were many great stalls with books, plants, gifts, “pull a jar” of sweets, toys, games, hand knitted items, cards, cakes, teas and coffee and mince pies, raffles, tombolas, Higher or Lower card game, a lovely pamper parlour gift, find the reindeer game and loads more.
The June Hornby Dancers were fantastic and Beechcroft St Paul’s School choir sang festive songs beautifully. Several hundred people turned out to support the church.
Father Richard Harper and the organiser Helen Green and team of helpers were thrilled.
All in all, it was a wonderful start to the Christmas season.
