DIAMOND duo Mavis and Jim Legg celebrated 60 years of marriage in style.
The great-grandparents, who live in Osmington, have thanked all their family and friends for helping them celebrate their successful marriage.
The selfless couple asked guests who helped them celebrate at a meal to donate money to the cardiology department at Dorset County Hospital instead of buying presents.
Daughter Tracey Reed said: “They would like to thank everyone for their generosity in helping them to raise £400 for the cause.
“My dad has had a defibrillator pacemaker fitted and wanted to give something back to the ward and staff for keeping him going.”
The couple, who have seven grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren, were even lucky enough to receive a letter from the Queen to mark the special event.
Mavis, 79, and Jim, aged 83, met in St Thomas Street in Weymouth and married at St Ann’s Church in Radipole.
