A WEYMOUTH couple chose to celebrate their silver wedding in a unique way.
Wenda, 81, and Michael Lacey, 76, bravely took on the Cresta Run slide at Lodmoor Country Park – re-enacting their wedding day 25 years ago.
The couple kissed at the bottom, just as they did on their wedding day.
They met on a blind date. Wenda said the couple didn’t have a secret to their success, they were just very happy.
Owner of the Cresta Run Ros Panrucker said she was delighted and pleased to see them on their major anniversary as she remembered them on their original run so long ago.
She added that the couple had done the run for several years on their anniversary. She said: “It was just wonderful. It was great to see them.”
She added: “We have been trading for 30 years plus and this is the only couple to celebrate their wedding day in this fashion and still doing this after 25 years.”
