DOZENS more jobs have been announced at Brewery Square with the opening of a new bar.
Vivo Lounge will open in Dorchester on Friday May 31, creating 30 jobs for local people.
West Country-based restaurant/café/bar group Loungers, is behind Vivo Lounge.
Loungers has invested £450,000 in transforming an empty unit on the ground floor of the development into a 'cosy, retro home from home'
Richie Collins, operations manager at Loungers, said: “Brewery Square and Dorchester in general is the perfect site for our Lounge concept.
"Customers these days increasingly seek more of an ‘experience’ when socialising so we tend to operate out of interesting, characterful spaces which enhance this. "Brewery Square is an incredible development which has made quite an impact on the Dorchester scene – hopefully we’ll make a similar impact on locals’ social lives.”
The interior of Vivo Lounge will be done out with dramatic art work next to over-sized vintage sofas and statement light fittings.
Mr Collins said: “We are looking to build a strong team, passionate about hospitality so our excellent pre-opening and ‘on the job’ training programme ensures our staff will be at the top of their game."
The menu features everything from authentic tapas, spicy peri-peri chicken breast burger to wild boar and apple sausage and mash and there is also a specials board.
Vivo Lounge opens from May 31 at 23 Weymouth Avenue, Brewery Square, and will be open every day from 9am to 11pm with food served until 10pm.
