CATTISTOCK Lawn Tennis Club will be holding a Coffee Morning at 10.30am on Saturday May 18. The event takes place in the Savill Hall, Cattistock, and stalls will include ‘New to You’ clothes, cakes, spring plants, bring and buy, photographs, a raffle and refreshments. Everyone is welcome. FROME Valley History Society has organised a visit to the Royal Signals Museum in Blandford on Monday, May 13. Please meet at 1.45 at the post office for a 2.15pm guided tour. The fee is £8 and there will be a chance to buy teas in the canteen.

POEMS, Pies and Pints are the order of the day at Melbury Osmond Village Hall on Friday, May 17.

The evening begins at 7.30pm.

The cost is £5 for supper, but there will be a retiring collection for village hall funds. Please note that the next of these is to Blandford on Tuesday May 21 THE NEXT Evershot Village Coffee Morning takes place at 11am on Monday May 20 at the Campbells in Pipers Hey. Everyone is welcome to come along – an ideal opportunity to meet up with other people in the village and have a chat.

EVERSHOT Annual Village Meeting takes place between 6 and 7pm on Monday, May 20, when the new village website will be on display. The meeting will be followed by the AGM of the Parish Council and then the routine Evershot Parish Council meeting.

LITTLE Acorns will be holding a coffee Morning at Rectory House, Fore Street in Evershot from 9.45 to 11am on Tuesday May 21.

Do come along to enjoy a cup of coffee and help to support this village playgroup, a valuable facility for parents and young children in the community. Coffee and a cake costs £2.50. There will also be a ‘bring and buy’ of toys and books, as well as a cake stall.

THE NEXT Ladies’ Impact Lunch will be held on Thursday, May 23 at 12.30 in Maiden Newton Village Hall. Palliative Care Nurse, Sue Hawkett OBE, will talk on ‘Dying Matters’.

MELBURY MEN’s Breakfast will hold their next meeting on Saturday, May 25, when the guest speaker will be David Wright, talking about the work of the Citizens’ Advice Bureau Meetings are held at the Southern Counties Shooting Club Cafe on Wardon Hill (A37), starting at 8.45 and finishing at around 9.45am. The cost of the breakfast is £7. There is a vegetarian option for those who require it, as well as a lighter breakfast for those who do not wish to have the ‘full English’.
