OVERCOMBE Post Office will be undergoing a makeover and is to begin offering its services for longer hours.
But the branch at Joys Store on Preston Road in Weymouth will be closed for several weeks whilst refurbishments take place.
It will close from Wednesday, April 17 and re-open on Saturday, May 4.
After the work is completed the post office opening hours will be Monday to Saturday from 7am to 8pm and Sunday from 7am to 7pm - an increase of more than 40 hours on current trading times.
Post Office Regional Network Manager for Wales and West of England, Tony Jones, said: “We understand how important having a Post Office is to residents in Overcombe and we are confident that the Post Office local service will meet the needs of the local community and secure services for the future."
While the Overcombe branch is closed, residents will be able to use the Preston Post Office at the Spar store on Preston Road.
