Despite freezing conditions a gang of intrepid litter pickers met outside the community hall last Wednesday and set forth to try and clear our streets of unsightly rubbish.
The litter pick had been organised by the Synergy Zone3 committee and the few who turned up were joined by the Weymouth Community Volunteers and two very helpful Brownies.
In the afternoon they were joined by Trish Randall the Synergy Housing Officer.
By 4pm they had filled 35 bags of litter.
A job well done and we all appreciate the effort they made to keep Littlemoor litter free.

We all know how important our library is to the community, the petition against the threat of closure in 2011 was signed by over 3,000 of you.
Yet, as someone pointed out to me, we haven’t got a Friends Of Littlemoor library group. Weymouth has one, so does Wyke, so why can’t we have one?
If you are interested in starting up this kind of group please either get in contact with me or Jess on 01305 813863, alternatively you can pop in and have a word with the librarian. -

The next indoor Boot Sale will be on Sunday 3rd March down at the community hall between noon and 3pm. Plenty of tables available, £4 for a large one and £2 for small. Loads of bargains to be had or another opportunity to have a clear out and make some money!
There will also be someone there doing acrylic nails at very reasonable prices. Refreshments will be available. -

Swanage may seem a fair distance from Weymouth, far enough at least not to worry too much about proposed wind farms built offshore, but in reality such things will affect us all.
For that reason Eneco Wind UK and EDF Energy have distributed their phase three consultation booklets and comment forms for you to fill in and have your say.
Like them or loathe them, wind farms look as if they are the future of our energy resources and each of us should give careful consideration to their construction even if they are not directly in plain sight.
If you have any comments to make on the Navitus Bay Wind Park proposal then you can find the information packs and feedback forms at the library.
Phase three of the community consultation process ends on 5th April so all completed comments forms should be in by that date.
