Frome Valley Music and Drama Society presents the pantomime Alice in Wonderland in the Savill Hall, Cattistock from Wednesday February 20 to Saturday February 23 (with matinees on the Wednesday and Saturday). Performances are at 7.30 (evening performances) and 2.30 (matinees). The cost of tickets is £5 (for adults) and £3.50 (for children and concessions).
Tickets are available from no 64 the Newsagents or The Stores in Maiden Newton. Alternatively, you can phone 01300 320888 FRAMPTON Footlights presents the traditional pantomime Dick Whittington and his Cat by Peter Denyer on February 21, 22 and 23. Tickets are now on sale at Frampton and Long Ash garages or by ringing 01300 320607.
Cost of tickets is as follows: Thursday £5, Friday £6 and Saturday £7, the Saturday matinee £5 (children under 16 £2.50).
COMPTON Valance Snowdrops and village hall lunches and teas are not to be missed! You have a chance to enjoy all or some from Monday February 4 until Friday, February 15.
Come and walk or drive through this beautiful village and see the stunning white drifts of snowdrops. The village hall is below the church by the red phone box - open (weather permitting) from 10.30am to 3.30pm daily.

CATTISTOCK Community Space committee will be holding a quiz night in the Savill Hall on Saturday, February 9. The quiz starts at 7.30pm with teams of up to 6 people. The cost is £3 per person and there will be a bar and refreshments available during the evening.
FROME Valley History Society will meet at Rampisham Village Hall at 2.30pm on Monday, February 11 to hear a talk by Emily Newton from Dorset Wildlife Trust. The fee for that event is £3.50.
THE FRIENDS of St Mary’s in Stratton warmly invite you to attend their Annual General Meeting on Monday February 11. Come along for a chat over a glass of wine at 7.15 before the start of the meeting at 7.30pm. Come and hear about the work of the Friends, how donations are spent and what is planned for 2013. Your views will be welcome.

STRATTON and Bradford Peverell WI will hold their popular annual Pancake and Coffee Morning on Tuesday, February 12. The stalls will include bric-a-brac, books, cakes, preserves and a raffle. Admission costs £1 including refreshments.
As always, part of the proceeds will go to a nominated charity.
STRATTON Lunch Club holds its next lunch on Wednesday, February 13 at 12.30 at Stratton Village Hall.

ARTSREACH presents Jonty Fisher’s Flyright Trio at Melbury Osmond Village Hall at 7.30pm on Thursday, February 21. Tickets cost £8 for adults and £6 for concessions. THERE will be an Auction of Promises and a two-course meal on Saturday February 23 in aid of Sticklands School in Evershot. The event takes place at Hooke Court and begins at 7pm for a meal at 7.30.
The auction will be run by a local professional auctioneer and tickets in advance cost £10 per person.
THE LADIES Thursday Group holds its next meeting on Thursday February 28 in Bradford Peverell Village Hall, when June Burt will share some of her ‘Recollections’ of times past.
The meeting starts at 7.30pm and everyone is most welcome to come along. SARAH, our local Police Community Support Officer will be in the Fox and Hounds, Cattistock, between midday and 1pm on the 3rd Tuesday of each month. The next opportunity will be on Tuesday, February 19.
Sarah also goes to Maiden Newton Coffee Shop on the last Tuesday of the month (the next opportunity being Tuesday, February 26) If you cannot make it but would like to talk, then please call 01305 226815 Do come along and discuss any issues that are concerning you.
