A 28-YEAR-OLD man has been arrested following a spate of burglaries in Poundbury.
Richard Mark Riley, 28, from Dorchester, was arrested on suspicion of burglaries that took place in the Highdown Avenue and Aconbury Avenue areas of Poundbury over the Christmas period.
Riley was subsequently charged with the two burglaries and remanded in police custody.
He is due to appear in court tomorrow.
PC Mike Brown of Dorchester South Safer Neighbourhood Team said: “We continue to forge a very close working relationship with the residents association and the three home watch groups on Poundbury to work in partnership to reduce crime and keep our communities safe.
“In light of the recent burglaries we will continue in our efforts to target further criminal activity both on Poundbury and all areas of the Dorchester section”.
This arrest follows on from another man who was arrested in early December in connection with a burglary in the Woodlands Crescent area of Poundbury.
A 20-year-old male from London was arrested and charged with the burglary.
Anyone with information in relation to these or any other crimes can call Dorset Police on 101.
