Saturday December 1st saw Simon Phillips return to the Park Community Centre, Chelmsford Street, Weymouth for a second year as the Featured Entertainment for the "Sparkle in the Park" following his previous success in 2011.
Weymouth Waterside Forum Treasurer Dave Burchill reports it was an excellent night that raised just under £190.00 and gave entertainment to aproximately 70 people.
In previous years tickets were sold on the night, but last years event had so many people turning up that the volunteers spent most of their evening running back and forwards with supplies for the buffet that was also included in the ticket price. This year saw the tickets sell out so quickly that it became obvious the demand for this event was high and so the forum agreed to increase the numbers this year.
Dave would also like to send out a huge thanks to everyone who helped, decorate the hall, ( & cleaned up the following day), make the buffet, set out the tables, provided entertainment and who just came out to prove that community spirit was not dead or even in hibernation.
Roll on next year!! But get your tickets early!!
