IT’S BEGINNING to feel a lot like Christmas here in our part of the world with lots of seasonal events organised to get people in a festive mood!
THE NEXT Stratton Lunch Club takes place on Wednesday, December 12 in Stratton Village Hall. Lunch begins at 12.30pm and costs £4 for members. Please contact Anne on 01305 265895 for more information.
STRATTON Parish Council has organised for the Durnovaria Silver Band to play carols outside the Saxon Arms from 7pm on Friday, December 14. The Saxon Arms will kindly provide mince pies and mulled wine and there will be a collection for Help the Heroes. Please come along to join in the singing and to get Christmas started in Stratton!
In case of wet weather, the event will move to the village hall.
O TIDINGS! Do come along to St Osmunds Church in Evershot for traditional songs, carols and stories, a seasonal concert featuring the Stanchester Quire and The New Hardy Players. The concert takes place on Friday, December 14 at 7.45pm.
THERE will be a traditional Carol Service in Chilfrome Church at 6.30pm on Monday, December 17. All are welcome on this joyful occasion.
A NEW Christmas event takes place in Frampton this year. There will be Carol Singing around the Christmas Tree and Supper at Frampton House in the Park. The event takes place at 7pm on Tuesday, December 18. Tickets cost £10 (£5 for children 12 years and under). Please telephone Ros Simpson (01300 320776) or Daphne Hawkins (01300 320029) to book or find out further details. Money raised will go to Frampton Church Building Fund. Musical children should contact Helena Conibear at Frampton House (01300 320665) THERE will also be carol singing around the village of Evershot on Friday, December 21. Please meet at the village hall at 6.30pm. The singing will be accompanied by the Yeovil Brass Band. Do come along – but remember to bring a torch and wrap up warm!
CHRISTMAS services in Cattistock will include the annual Carol Service on Thursday, December 20, the Crib Service on Sunday, December 23 And the Toys and Communion Service on Christmas Day.
SARAH, our local Police Community Support Officer will be in the The Saxon Arms, Stratton, between 11am and midday on Tuesday, December 18.
