The Over 50’s Friendship Club have now broken up for Christmas but will resume normal meetings on Wednesday January 9 2013 at 2.30pm. Apart from their normal social gatherings at the Park Community Centre, this year March has seen them go off on the Annual Mystery Pub Trip which found them at The Fox at Ansty, and enjoyed themselves so much a return visit was insisted upon, which happened this Autumn. More recently they have also had speakers come along to give an insight into different worlds, Carole Cluett came with her dogs that are trained to help disabled people, & Tracey Stagg who is the Manager of the CLIC Sargent shop in St Thomas Street also visited the centre and gave a talk. The last Meeting in November is when the club is entertained by pupils from St Johns School who sing Christmas Carols and songs with their young angelic voices. They also have their annual Xmas meal booked and ready to go shortly. So if you see a band of jolly 50+ somethings wandering round town my bet is it will be the Over 50s Friendship Club seeking new members
The club is open to both men and women. The club meet up on every 2nd and 4th Wednesday of the month from 2.30pm. For more information please contact the Park Community Centre on 01305 839579
