THE MELBURY Osmond Garden and Show Society is holding its Annual General Meeting at 7.15pm on Friday, November 9. Do come along to hear about amendments to the show schedule and afterwards to listen to the talk on ‘Planning a Border’ by the Castle Gardens Group. Admission is free to members and £2 to non-members. There will be refreshments available.
THE IVY Club in Maiden Newton will be having a talk and slides by Kay Townsend at their meeting on Tuesday, November 6, starting at 2pm.

ARTSREACH presents ‘Morgan and West, Time Travelling Magicians’, at Melbury Osmond Village Hall on Thursday, November 8, beginning at 7.30pm.
The cost of tickets is £8 for adults, £5 for under 18’s (minimum age 7 years) and £20 for a family (2 adults and 2 children).

This event begins at 8pm and will feature the Budapest Café Orchestra. Tickets cost £10 and are available from Evershot Village Shop. MELBURY MEN’s Breakfast will hold their next meeting on Saturday, November 17, when the guest speakers will be Dan Evenhuis, UK Director of Fusion, an international youth and community organisation which emerged as a creative response to socially at risk young people.
Meetings are held at the Southern Counties Shooting Club Cafe on Wardon Hill (A37), starting at 8.45 and finishing at around 9.45am. There is a vegetarian option for those who require it, as well as a lighter breakfast for those who do not wish to have the ‘full English’.

THERE will be a one-day workshop for church organists in the parish church of St Osmond, Evershot on Saturday, November 17, starting at 11am.
The tutors will be David Bruce Payne and Richard Godfrey from the Lyme Regis Organ School. This is an opportunity to develop keyboard skills, particularly in the accompaniment of hymns, and many other useful aspects of service accompaniment. This will be a relaxed and informative event, open and accessible to all levels of experience. The cost (including tea and coffee) is just £5.

THERE will be a Grand Christmas Bazaar in Frampton on Saturday, November 24 .
This is always a very popular annual event put on by the Trustees of the Frampton Village Hall (on Dorchester Road – DT2 9NF). The event has grown year by year and each year the Trustees try to make the bazaar interesting and fun for everyone. The event starts promptly at 2pm with a 15 minute auction and features bric-a-brac, a giant tombola, raffles, books, CD's, as well as craft stalls by local artists and craftspeople. Refreshments will be available, as will ample on-site parking. Come along and have some fun and find a bargain. If you are looking for that special Christmas present for someone this is the place to look. You won't be disappointed. Admission is £1 for adults, children are admitted free of charge ON THE same day but starting at 1pm in a marquee behind the hall, the Two Slim Ladies will be demonstrating a delicious and easy to make three-course meal, with a scrumptious starter, mouth-watering main course and decadent pudding. Recipes and cooking methods will be provided, together with the individual costs of all ingredients. Everyone will have a chance to taste the dishes. If you are interested in cooking lovely food, then this is a demonstration not to be missed. Places for these events go very quickly, so please arrive early. We would request that guests arrive at least 15 minutes beforehand so that the event can start promptly at 1pm without interruptions. The entrance fee is £2.50, which will include admittance to the bazaar which follows at 2pm and of course all proceeds go to the running of the hall.
