GIBBS John Passed peacefully away at home on 9th December 2023 after a long illness. Beloved husband of Pauline, loving father of Susan and Carrie and Grandad to Bethany, Benjamin, Holly, Amelia and Charlie. The funeral will take place at Weymouth Crematorium on Friday 5th January 2024 at 2.30pm. Family flowers only please. No need to wear black, come and celebrate his life. After the service all welcome at Wellworthys, Wyke Regis.

To Pauline and family, John was an exceptionally lovely man. I only knew him as quiz master at The Globe, but I admired him, his sense of fun and caring, and his determination to carry on despite his ever failing health. If I was out and about and saw him struggling I would stop and give him a hand or an elbow to hold on to. I hadn't seen him of late, but often thought of him. We kept in touch via facebook, as you do. I last "spoke" to him on fb when he was in hospital recently. I am so sorry that he has finally lost his battle and hope to be at his funeral, though I wish it was not so. Thinking of you all at this very sad time, Sarah Edmonds.
