MERCER Geoffrey William Passed away peacefully on 14.07.2023. Loving father, grandfather and great grandfather, he will be sadly missed. Geoff's funeral will take place at Weymouth Crematorium Chapel on Monday 7th August at 12.15pm. All welcome. No flowers please. Donations in memory of Geoff, if desired, can be made online to the British Heart Foundation at www.bhf.org.uk or Cancer Care Dorset at www.dccf.co.uk

He was a man with a history, and such a cheeky smile
Met him in a pub and I‘d known him for a while.
Julie loved him too, and the bond was clear to me
They would hold hands and laugh and didn’t care that I could see.

He liked his beer and would oft partake,
His humour was strong and good conversation he would make.
He was always very smart and mostly clean shaven
Except for that moustache and it was a very grey one.

I will miss my friend I have to say
Never thought I would see this rather saddened day.
I will remember Geoff for as long as I able
He was one of life’s treasures— a very fitting label.
