GET creative down at Eype on Sunday for Bridport Arts Centre’s annual event Sculpture on the Beach.

This is a great day out for all the family and participants are encouraged to let their imaginations run wild and make wonderful sculptures from treasures found on the beach.

Past participants have used everything from stones and seaweed to driftwood.

The popular competition attracts a wide variety of competitors from children and families to professional sculptors.

There are cash prizes for the three winning sculptures – however, it is about family fun and finding an exciting way of enjoying the coast.

Arts centre general manager Dee Fenton said: “Sculpture on the beach is a real highlight of Bridport Arts Centre’s calendar.

“It’s great to see people using weird and wonderful found objects in a creative way.

“I have seen some fun entries over the past few years – including dinosaurs, a mermaid and a cave man. Come along for a great day out.”

To take part simply turn up on July 29. The event runs from 11am and judging takes place at 3pm. Registration costs £3.
