WEEKEND tickets for this year’s Camp Bestival have all but sold out – but there are still a few day tickets left.
The family-orientated music and funfest takes place at Lulworth Castle from July 27 to 29 and not even the abysmal weather and economic crisis has deterred people from buying their tickets.
“I have been here three days and there was one slightly soggy field but it’s pretty solid now so things are looking positive,” said Camp Bestival founder Rob da Bank.
“We have also almost sold out of weekend tickets, which I’m absolutely thrilled about. Things started well and then faltered a bit – from March onwards it has been a bit slow but luckily we have pulled through and kept things going.
“Now it’s just the last few tickets and I think people are starting to think it will be a sunny weekend ahead.”
Day tickets for Friday, Saturday and Sunday are available in advance from the Lulworth Castle box office, online and at the gate on the day – although this might be risky.
This year’s Camp Bestival is jam-packed with excellent entertainment for all, musical and otherwise.
Friday night’s headliner is electro band Hot Chip, Saturday rounds off with a disco inferno of music with Kool and Gang, Chic featuring Nile Rodgers and the Earth, Wind and Fire Experience, while Sunday night is Madchester night with the reincarnated Happy Mondays.
Other musical events include Stooshe, Rolf Harris, Jimmy Cliff, Adam Ant and Rizzle Kicks and there is also ballet, children’s theatre including The Gruffalo and Shrek, arts and crafts, comedy, Mr Tumble and much, much more.
