FANS of variety shows are in for a rare treat this month.
Twice Brightly, which will be performed in the Ocean Room at Weymouth Pavilion, is a return to the traditional variety show, a mix of laughter music and song.
Starring former Opportunity Knocks winner Tammy Jones, comedian Ronnie Hayward, harmonica star Johnny Stafford, the vocal talents of Mavis Lane and entertainer Mike Pannell, the show is full of laughter, music and song.
Tammy said: “A friend of mine who is a comedian called and asked if I would like to be in this variety show he was putting together and I said I would love to be.
“Basically, it is a wonderful show for the old timers. It is absolutely wonderful with comedy, singing from the West End, some lovely harmonies and my own stage show.
“It is lovely and it really gets people singing along.”
Tammy, who now lives in north Wales, first came to the public’s attention in the mid-1970s when she won Opportunity Knocks.
Before that she had appeared at the London Palladium and on the television with the likes of fellow Valley boy Tom Jones.
Twice Brightly is in the Ocean Room, Weymouth Pavilion on June 16 at 7.30pm. Tickets are £12 plus concessions from 01305 783225.
