ENGLISH Touring Opera returns to the Lighthouse on Friday and Saturday (May 13 and 14) with an exciting programme of rarely-performed masterpieces by Puccini and Mozart.
James Conway’s production of La clemenza di Tito is a bold interpretation of a rarely-performed Mozart masterpiece. Bringing this colourful production to Poole is a cast of fearless singers, including Julia Riley as Sesto, who is torn between his loyalty to the emperor Titus (Mark Wilde) and his love for Vitellia (Gillian Ramm).
Beginning English Touring Opera’s Lighthouse two-day residency on May 13 is a performance featuring two, one-hour long Puccini operas.
These two short works, Il tabarro and Gianni Schicchi, are Puccini’s most perfect and perfectly contrasting masterpieces. You can see the plays on Friday at 7.30pm. Mozart’s La clemenza di Tito is on May 14 at 7.30pm. Pre-show talks will be held at 6.30pm and tickets are £19.50 plus concessions. Call 0844 406 8666 for information.
