READY to laugh until your sides ache and your ribs ping? Organisers of Larmer Tree Festival have announced their full comedy line up and some of the most popular names in the laughter business will be making their way to North Dorset in July.

The quartet of headliners are Edunburgh award-winning Russell Kane, British institution and everyone’s favourite Grumpy Old Man Arthur Smith, the enthusiastic and mischievous Phil Nichol and the sparky and endearing wit of Andi Osho.

In addition, you can also catch a load of other, new talents including energetic Malian guitarist Vieux Farka Touré, icons of the ska revival The Selecter with Pauline Black, New Zealand’s psychedelic pop troupe The Phoenix Foundation and the prince of British Bangra Jassi Sidhu, plus many more.

The first headliner is Russell Kane. Currently on a sell-out national tour with his award winning show, Russell has been described as ‘probably the most exciting comic discovery of the year’.

Next on the bill is national treasure Arthur Smith. Often found spread across the BBC on TV and radio shows like QI, Have I Got News for You, Grumpy Old Men and many more, Arthur is a comedian, writer, broadcaster and all-round British institution.

Known for his sublime playfulness he is bursting with jokes, anecdotes, short stories, poems and songs.

Accompanying Arthur Smith and Russell Kane as headliners are two other truly unique performers. Phil Nichol is an acclaimed actor, award-winning comedian, producer, presenter, writer and musician.

Last, but by no means least, is the cheeky, quick witted and effervescent Andi Osho, winner of the prestigious Nivea Funny Women Award, an established performer on the stand up circuit and a popular guest on radio and TV.

The Larmer’s comedy list is the perfect complement to the five-day festival’s music line-up, which includes Seasick Steve, Imelda May, Asian Dub Foundation, Stornoway and many others.

And don’t forget the opening night’s mega concert by Jools Holland and his 24-piece Rhythm & Blues Orchestra.

The festival takes place in the Larmer gardens near Blandford from July 13 to 17. For more information or to buy tickets visit larmertreefestival.co.uk
