STEVE Knightley, in association with Lodge Music Promotions, will be performing live at Holy Trinity Church, Bradpole, on Wednesday, December 8.
Steve is well known as one half of the highly acclaimed, award winning West Country folk duo, Show of Hands.
He is an accomplished songwriter and winner in 2010 of the best original song, Arrogance, ignorance and Greed at the prestigious BBC Radio 2 Folk Awards.
In the early years of Show of Hands, Steve was still a teacher at Beaminster School, where he inspired many local young musicians before leaving to become a full-time musician, and touring internationally.
He is renowned for his strong, trademark narrative songs, which reflect the escapades, hopes and fears, not only of people in his native West Country, but beyond and he pulls no punches when writing highly literate songs about bigger, global issues.
BBC Radio 2's Mike Harding recently described Steve as ‘one of England's greatest songwriters’.
This is a rare opportunity to see Steve outside of Show of Hands, doing mainly his own material prior to recording a new solo album.
Doors open at 7.15pm for an 8pm start. Tickets are £14 from Bridport Music in South Street, on 01308 425707.
There will be parking available at the King's Head pub.
