DORSET legend Ben Waters will be taking time out from his busy international tour to play a one-off gig at the Electric Palace in Bridport.

Venue manager Gabby Rabbitts said: “This really will be a unique opportunity to see Ben at his strongest, with his full touring band, including truly world class musicians.”

Ben started playing piano as a boy and is now one of world’s leading boogie woogie and rock ’n’ roll piano players.

Although only 35, he has entertained in festivals, theatres, and clubs for over 20 years, with more than 3,000 gigs under his belt.

Gabby added: “Ben’s energetic piano driven shows have to be seen to be believed, it really is live music at its best.”

Ben’s friend and sometime collaborator Jools Holland talked about Ben in Mojo magazine and said: “Boogie woogie is alive and well.

“Ben Waters – who incidentally is PJ Harvey’s cousin – has got the touch and the feel for it.

“Half of the secret of boogie woogie is knowing the tempo at which to play and not making things too fast, and Ben really understands that.”

Jools added: “I saw him years ago and I thought he was great so ended up playing with him. Then he ended up playing at my wedding. He is always playing so do go see him because he is terrific live.”

Don’t miss the chance to dance the night away to the fabulous Ben Waters joined by some world class musicians for one night only. The gig is on Friday, December 3 and tickets are on sale now for £12 from the Electric Palace box office on 01308 428354 and Bridport Music on 01308 425707.
