COME and audition for the next top pop musical to rock onto the stage at Weymouth Pavilion this summer.
The Heat is On has been hailed as ‘the ultimate celebration of the greatest songs from the greatest musicals and movies’.
It features hits from Glee, Dirty Dancing, Grease, Saturday Night Fever, Footloose, Mamma Mia. Hairspray and more.
It also stars entertainer Russ Spencer, who was a member of British Eurovision hopefuls Scooch and appeared in the hit stage show Chitty Chitty Bang Bang.
Russ and his colleague, Fame Academy’s Chris Manning, are working with Portland Dance School to find young performers aged between seven and 15 to join in the show at the Pavilion.
Open auditions are being held on Sunday, July 11 at St George’s Centre, Reforne on Portland from 10am until noon and at Dorchester YMCA, Sawmills Lane, off Weymouth Avenue, Dorchester between 2pm and 4pm.
A dance routine will be taught on the day and if possible can everyone have an a capella verse and chorus of a song of your choice prepared.

This weekend also sees the continuation of Weymouth’s Spirit of the Sea festival with events including the Big Grove Summer Festival on Portland, which runs from noon until midnight tomorrow and includes loads of live bands, stalls, entertainment, refreshments and more.
Admission is £5 plus concessions with proceeds going to local charities.
The Dorset Seafood Festival is also taking place tomorrow and Sunday around Weymouth harbour.
There will be tastings and demonstrations from top chefs including Mark Hix and Mat Follas, a Young Seafood Masterchef contest, the Guinness Cross Harbour Challenge Swim, the gruesome Fish Tucker Trials and for bargain hunters, a fish auction.
There are also displays by the Historic Diving Association, a puppet theatre and street entertainers with a full two-day programme of folk and sea shanty music in Hope Square.
