A VISUAL feast of stunning scenes is promised when the world-famous Cirque de Glace comes to town.
Witness the opening scenes of this fantastic show as a huge volcano spews real fire high in the air.
As the planet cools the volcano cracks in two to reveal the stunningly beautiful contortionist Valeria Murzak balanced on top of the Earth.
Combining the Olympic standard skating of the critically acclaimed Russian Ice Stars with the magical world of Cirque, this amazing fusion is a world first, creating a new and thrilling genre destined to set alight the world of live entertainment.
For the first time ever a Russian Bar act will be performed over a real ice surface.
It is impossible to rig any safety equipment and the performers rely on years of training to avoid serious injury in one of the most dangerous circus disciplines.
Along side the four strong Russian Bar team, world record holder Svetlana Murzak performs her Cloud Swing act high above the ice and husband and wife team Ekaterina and Alexander Belokpytov perform aerial acrobatics above the audiences heads.
British Champion John Hamer joins the Russian Ice Stars as a special guest for this amazing production and performs alongside the world’s tallest ice skater the 6ft 8inch Andrey Chuvilyaev.
The show is taking place at the Octagon Theatre in Yeovil, where assistant manager Kate Wigmore said: “With a subtle and thought provoking environmental message, this is a production of the highest possible standard.”
You can see the show from today until Sunday, May 31. Performances are at 7.30pm (except on Sunday) with 2.30 matinees on Thursday, Saturday and Sunday.
