YET more fantastic family entertainment has been added to this year’s Camp Bestival line-up.

The weekend festival, which takes place at Lulworth Castle in July, already has more than 100 free events for children on its timetable.

Now, joining forces with Mr Tumble, jugglers, storytelling, a woodland theatre and much more, is none other than the undersea superhero SpongeBob SquarePants.

Nickelodeon UK will be recreating SpongeBob’s magical underwater world Bikini Bottom in a new interactive play space for kids.

This amazing new zone promises to bring the wonderful Technicolor fantasy world to life – one for kids and adults alike.

A spokesman for Camp Bestival said: “With SpongeBob’s tenth birthday on the horizon, 2009 has been named The Year of the Sponge and Camp Bestival was his first choice to launch the celebration.

“You can chill out with friends and family, catch up with some classic SpongeBob adventures, take part in spongetastic interactive games hosted by the Bikini Bottom lifeguard and even meet SpongeBob SquarePants himself.”

Bringing an air of grace and finesse to proceedings this year is the English National Ballet and Angelina Ballerina’s Big Audition in the Big Top on Sunday.

Camp Bestivalers can meet the amazing ballerinas and participate in workshops with the dancers over the weekend – don’t feel you have to be a dancer, anyone can have a go!

The family entertainment is all part of the greater festival, which runs from Friday to Sunday, and includes musical acts including PJ Harvey, Chic, Kid Creole and the Coconuts, Mercury Rev and many more.

Also preparing to play are Dorset Unsigned Music Award winners Achilles from Shaftesbury, who were chosen by Camp Bestival founder and Radio 1 DJ Rob da Bank.

Rob said: “I was a judge at the Dorset Unsigned Music Awards at the weekend. I got to choose one of five bands to play at Camp Bestival and I chose who would play on the Main Stage.

“Achilles sound like DJ Shadow gone West Country! They were delighted and we drank Champers.”

Camp Bestival is at Lulworth Castle from Friday to Sunday, May 24 to 26. For full details and to book tickets visit campbestival.co.uk There are also some great Camp Bestival prizes at nick.co.uk/events
