THIS year's Dorset Art Weeks is a new experience for Andrew Seamark one of the newcomers to DAW.

Andrew, who will be exhibiting in his home conservatory overlooking the Fleet, works in different media focusing on landscapes around Dorset and the coast.

He is mainly self-taught and has been selling his artwork with increasing success for several years.

He says: "I'd describe my paintings as lively and fresh and I always try to enhance our already beautiful countryside."

n IINTRICATE wickerwork sculpture is going on show in Caroline Sharp's Weymouth garden for Dorset Art Weeks.

Caroline is a landscape architect and sculptor who works throughout the UK.

She uses natural materials and is strongly influenced by natural form, containment and movement. Materials used include: stone, clay, chalk, willow, poplar, birch, hazel, and dogwood stems, leaves and wood Caroline will be exhibiting her work at home venue no. 227, 11 Cleveland Avenue, Weymouth, DT4 7RD. Opening times are weekends including the Bank Holiday Monday between 11am and 5pm.

n A STUNNING photographic exhibition focusing on a group of new travellers is currently showing as part of Dorset Art Weeks.

The photographer Teresa Holmes-Thompson shot the pictures over several months beginning in May 2007. She also ran a series of ten weekly practical photography workshops for the travellers and The Study Gallery of Modern Art converted a college van into a darkroom and the negatives were developed on site.

Work was formed in collaboration with the travellers and used with their consent. As well as her own DAW exhibition, Teresa's work has also been selected for the Dorset Visual Arts showcase exhibition Trig point.

Teresa's travellers exhibition is at Chapter House Studio, The Old Chapel, Milborne St Andrew DT11 0JP until Saturday, June 7. The studio is open daily (except Sundays) between 10am and 5pm. Entry is Free. Telephone 01258 839159
