Following a triumphant silver anniversary tour, sell out performances and rave reviews, Moscow City Ballet return to Lighthouse, Poole’s Centre for the Arts, from February 10 to 14 with performances of The Nutcracker and Romeo and Juliet.

Timeless classic The Nutc-racker, complete with stunning costumes, sumptuous sets and Tchaikovsky’s masterpiece sco-re, can be seen on February 10, 11 and 14.

This enchanting ballet tells the story of Clara’s magical adventure with her Nutcracker Prince, including a visit to the exquisite Land of Flowers and the beautiful Flower Fairy, and is a real treat for all the family.

On February 12 and 13, the world’s most famous love story Romeo and Juliet is set to Prokofiev’s dramatic score, a 20th-century masterpiece. All the hustle and bustle of Renaissance Verona is brought to life in this powerful production.

The ballet follows the fate of the star-crossed teenage lovers from their first meeting to their untimely and tragic death. Moscow City Ballet’s repertoire combines artistry, technique, narrative and live music for breath-taking productions of ‘big story’ Russian dance.

The audience can not only marvel at the perfection of its corps de ballet but witness the superb dexterity, grace and vitality of the young and talented cast.

Founded in 1988 by Victor Smirnov-Golovanov, who sadly died in 2013 after a long battle with cancer, Moscow City Ballet remains in the safe hands of his devoted wife LudmilaNeroubashchenko, who has been leading the ballet company for the last few years, will now officially take on the position of Artistic Director and will continue to preserve Victor's unique choreography and productions as well as the commitment to promoting ballet in the Russian Classical tradition all over the world.We are looking forward to a successful 25th Anniversary Season of 2013-2014. Neroubashchenko, who has been leading the ballet company for the last few years. Ludmila has remained faithful to Victor’s unique choreography and production, which has entertain-ed and fascinated audiences of all ages around the world.

Moscow City Ballet will be accompanied on tour by the Moscow City Ballet Orchestra.
