THIS year's summer opera in Abbotsbury will be Donizetti's Don Pasquale.
Performed in English by the Garden Opera Company, Don Pasquale is a richly comic tale about a wealthy man who disinherits his nephew when the youngster refuses to marry the woman of his uncle's choice, because he is in love with another.
Before the happy ending can be played out, the show takes its audience through a whole range of opera buffo' - comedy and chaos - until the curtain closes.
A spokesman for Abbotsbury Music said: "The music is delicious and there are lots of jokes - perfect for garden opera's style."
You can see Don Pasquale in the gardens of Abbey House Hotel on Friday and Sunday, July 4 and 6, at 7pm (garden opens for picnics at 5.30pm) and on Monday, July 7 at 5pm (garden opens at 4pm, the audience is welcome to picnic afterwards).
