PERFORMER Tony Lowe, who is well known for his summer 'swing' concerts in the area, is teaming up with daughter Kate Lowe for a charity concert in the New Year.
The concert, which will raise money for the Weldmar Hospicecare Trust, will take place in Preston Village Hall, Weymouth, on Friday, January 3, starting at 2.30 pm.
Tony has just finished a successful run with the Brussels Light Opera Company in Belgium, starring as Fred Graham in the musical Kiss Me, Kate.
Kate, in her second year studying vocal performance at the Royal Academy of Music in London, toured with the National Gilbert & Sullivan Company in the summer and recently filmed with choirmaster and broadcaster Gareth Malone, for a BBC programme to be screened later this month.
Emily Fisher, community engagement fundraiser, said: "Weldmar Hospicecare are very grateful for the ongoing support of both the Weymouth Friends Group and Tony and Kate Lowe - it will be a lovely post-Christmas event!"
This concert promises to be a super mix of both swing and classical music, all guaranteed to blow away those 'post-Christmas blues' and kick-start your New Year!
