Daniel Hordon

Senior Reporter

Daniel is a Reporter for The Northern Echo, covering stories across County Durham, Darlington, Tyne & Wear, Northumberland and Teesside. He joined the Echo in June 2022 and became a Senior Reporter in April 2024.

 

He was named in the Press Awards' 30 Under 30 list of young journalists to watch in 2024. Other accolades include being highly commended in the Scoop of the Year category at the Regional Press Awards 2023 for his 'Someone else is buried in dad's grave' story, and being shortlisted as Young Journalist of the Year (Regional) at the Media Freedom Awards. He was named Trainee of the Year at Newsquest's Excellence Awards 2023.
