Local Notice to Mariners No 09/2015 (T) ATLAS ELEKTRONIK TOWING TRIALS
ATLAS ELEKTRONIK TOWING TRIALS
Trial Dates: 24th August 2015 - 31st October 2015 |
Trial Times: Daylight Hours
Trial Location: NE corner of Portland Inner Harbour Newtons Cove area of Portland Outer Harbour and Weymouth Bay
Trials Vessels: The trials vessel will be an 11metre asymmetric catamaran. Support vessel for towing trials will be "BINCLEAVES RIB"
The trials will involve a 11 metre vessel towing equipment on a cable of up to 75 metres in length. The cable will be marked by a float at the tail and the towing | vessel will display appropriate day shapes.
The towing vessel will be accompanied by "BINCLEAVES RIB", working channel will be VHF Channel 68.
A Securite broadcast will be made on VHF Channel 16/74 at the start of each towing trial and every hour for the duration of the trial.

Mariners are requested to give the trials vessels a wide berth during operations.
