Marine and Coastal Access Act 2009 Section 155 & 156
Notice is hereby given that pursuant to the above Regulation, Southern Inshore Fisheries and Conservation Authority intends to apply to the Minister for the Department for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs for the confirmation of the following byelaws:
Bottom Towed Fishing Gear Byelaw 2016
This byelaw prohibits the use of bottom towed fishing gear in areas of the Southern IFCA District in order to protect habitats and species within Marine Protected Areas.
Solent Dredge Fishing Byelaw
This byelaw prohibits the use of shellfish dredges between 1st March and 31st October each year and between the periods of 17.00 hours and 07.00 hours each day within Southampton Water, Portsmouth Harbour and Langstone Harbour.

Any person wishing to object to the confirmation of the above byelaws must send a statement of objection in writing to: Marine Conservation and Enforcement Team, Marine Management Organisation, Lancaster House, Hampshire Court, Newcastle Upon Tyne NE4 7YH (or IFCAbyelaws@marinemanagement.org.uk) within 28 days of the publication of this notice and must send a copy of this statement to the CEO at Southern IFCA, 64 Ashley Road, Poole, | Dorset BH14 9BN (orenquiries@southern-ifca.gov.uk).
