WEYMOUTH have secured the services of winger Keelan O’Connell for the 2024/25 Vanarama National League South season.
Former AFC Bournemouth product O’Connell joined Weymouth in the 2022/23 campaign under then boss David Oldfield.
Prior to Weymouth, he joined Torquay United and made 28 appearances in the National League under boss Gary Johnson.
After penning a permanent deal from the Gulls, the wide man played 46 times for the Terras in his debut season, scoring four times and providing 10 assists.

However, he had a quieter term by his standards in the following season under Bobby Wilkinson.
Coming in and out of the team, and faced with the occasional injury, O’Connell returned two goals and only one assist in 33 appearances.
However, he scored what proved to be the winner in the memorable last-gasp 4-3 victory and also netted in the 4-1 victory over Havant in what proved to be Wilkinson’s final game.
In a club statement, Weymouth said: “We are delighted to confirm the extension of Keelan O’Connell’s contract for a further year, seeing the young attacker stay on the coast until May 2025.
“Keelan has established himself in the team as a strong attacking player, delivering exciting passages of play with an eye for goal. Most notably, this season, Keelan will be highlighted for his winning goal which saw our emphatic home comeback success against Hemel Hempstead.
“Keelan joins the growing list of retained players as we continue to strengthen our squad ahead of an exciting 24/25 campaign.”
O’Connell is Weymouth’s third retention of the summer after Charlie Rowan and skipper Tom Bearwish agreed terms.
