A MAN is to go on trial after being accused of strangling a woman at a hotel.
Levi John Cupper, 26 and who gave his address as the Premier Inn on Mercery Road, in Weymouth, appeared before Poole Magistrates’ Court on Saturday, March 18 to face two charges.
He entered not guilty pleas to a count of assault by beating and one count of intentional strangulation.
The charges relate to alleged incidents on March 14 of this year at a Travelodge in Doncaster and involve a single complainant.
Cupper was released on conditional bail and ordered not to enter the town of Dorchester until at least May 3. He must also not have any direct or indirect contact with the complainant.
A summary trial has been listed to be heard at Poole Magistrates’ Court on May 3.
