WEYMOUTH have agreed terms with star striker Brandon Goodship for the 2024/25 Vanarama National League South season.

Goodship, 29, is just five goals away from a century in Weymouth colours.

He could also bring up his 200th Terras appearance next season, needing just 23 more games under his belt, together with three more assists for a half-century.

Former Southend forward Goodship finished the 2023/24 campaign as Weymouth’s joint top-scorer with 13 goals alongside Ezio Touray.

However, Goodship also managed 12 assists, putting him top of the overall goal contributions chart, while claiming status as Weymouth’s top provider.

In a club statement, Weymouth said: “Brandon has committed his season to the Terras as he chases the final goals he needs to hit his century for the club.

“Goodship has been part of the club on three separate occasions, seeing the club promoted and racking up 177 appearances so far, with a complimentary 47 assists.

“He is earmarked to play a vital role in Mark’s side as we look to continue our growth on and off the pitch in this forthcoming season.”

Goodship is currently in his third spell at Weymouth, having been top-scorer in the 2017/18 and 2018/19 seasons under Mark Molesley.

He left for Southend and League One football but came back in 2021 under then boss Brian Stock before exiting for Salisbury.

Goodship was tempted into a second return by previous manager Bobby Wilkinson and is now set to link up with Molesley for the third time in his senior career, the duo having worked together at Roots Hall.

He is the fifth player to commit for 2024/25 after Charlie Rowan, skipper Tom Bearwish, Keelan O’Connell and Josh McQuoid.
