“FEARLESS” Balti Sports are in for a tough ride at home to Sturminster Newton United tomorrow (2pm), manager Marco Nott believes.

Balti are unbeaten in two matches but face a Cherries side perched in third in the Dorset Premier League.

And the north Dorset side have already thrashed Balti 5-1 away in the DPL Cup this season.

Nott insists his young team will not be daunted by the task but also raised fears over whether the match will go ahead due to a saturated playing surface at Weymouth College.

He told Echosport: “We’ve lost a lot of games through bad weather, it’s been really stop-start, but we are unbeaten in two.

“The lads are in a good place, it’s just frustrating with the weather. Our pitch is in the worst condition in my tenure, it needs treating badly. They need to have a real good look at it.

“Stur Newton will be a real tough game, they’re just a real solid side and they’re looking to go up as well.

“It will be interesting to see how our young lads cope, they are fearless.”

Derek Wall (knee) and Carl McClements miss out, while Louie James and Fin Jarvis are unavailable.

Aston Butcher and Oscar Preece return, while ex-Portland United forward Sol Roche could make his debut.

On Roche, Nott added: “He did a bit for Chickerell last year. He works for the Navy and is away a lot.

“We’ve been looking for a striker and Sol’s getting back to fitness. I approached him and he’s keen. He’s a top striker and in this league he’ll score a lot of goals.”
