REJUVENATED Balti Sports have kept just 11 players from last season’s squad after a massive summer overhaul, boss Marco Nott has revealed.

Back in May, Nott told Echosport of his determination not to give up on Balti and now heads into his 19th season at the helm.

Nott is joined by retained players Callum Allison, Matt Chambers, Matt Roberts, Aston Butcher, Jack Drummond, Sami Nichols, Dec Spearing, Carl McClements, Andy Nott and Danny Andrews.

Scott Walker and Alex Halloran are expected to be free later in the season, while Ethan Devaney and Josh Houghton may have limited roles. Taylor Brown's future is uncertain.

Jamie Rawlings, Phil Anderson, dual-registered Liam Taylor and Oscar Preece have all returned to the club.

New signings include Marcus Biles, Louie Govier, Jake Hawker and Jack Summers from Upwey.

Balti’s marquee signing, striker Derek Wall, joins up along with Jack Critchell, James Hansford, Harry Rupp, Fin Jarvis, Louis Gear and Charlie Mussenden.

Pete Jarvis has retired but Matt Brisco, Reece Nutman, Sean Zima, Rory Zima, Che Curran, Gary Harvey, Mike Stone, Lloyd Beals, Liam Reid and Finn Sugg have all left.

There are big changes on the touchline, too, as former Weymouth striker Carl Mutch has joined the coaching team.

Ex-Bridport boss Rob Marquis also takes a senior role alongside incumbent coach Chris Hicks.

Nott told Echosport: “To be honest, we probably could’ve got most of them back but we want to go on a different route with players who are keen and committed from the off.

“I don’t want any lads that can only do once every four games, I just want a bunch that all want to play for the shirt.

“Last year was so bad in terms of availability, I just don’t want that problem any more. I need hungry players, rather than people who only play when they want.”

Balti have put together a fruitful summer and have been busy recruiting young, talented players.

Nott said: “We’ve had drastic changes, a bit of a clear-out. We’ve got Rob in who knows a lot of young players.

“He’s got that experience at Bridport, good or bad, and he’s got a good contact book. He’s introduced probably about six young ones.

“On top of that, we’ve got five or six from the old Upwey team that folded, we’ve got a couple from Chickerell and then the kids.

“We’re in a good place, we’re getting some good numbers at training.”

He added: “It’s been needed, the shape of the team looks really good and we must have done nine or ten friendlies this year.

“We’ve gone pretty much all-in. We said if we’re going to commit for this year, we’re going to do it properly. It’s a new-look Balti, really.

“We’ve got the age down, which was needed. We’re going to have to bed in this year and hopefully finish mid-table or a bit higher. I think we’re going to surprise a few people.”

Balti also have a new badge, incorporating the flag of Dorset and elements from their previous logo.

Their new kit features a navy torso, with light blue sleeves, and is sponsored by Weymouth Precision Engineers.

Balti switch to a white away kit, sponsored by Brooklyn Homes, ready for the opening game of the Dorset Premier League season at Wimborne Town Reserves on Saturday, August 12 (3pm).
