DORCHESTER Town have signed central defender Jayden Corbridge from Yeovil Town on non-contract terms.
Corbridge, who was with Weymouth in pre-season, initially joined Dorchester Town Reserves but manager Craig Laird was taken with his displays and offered him a first-team spot.
Laird told Echosport the former Yeovil Town Under-18s’ defender was “hungry and desperate” to test himself at Southern League level.
He said: “He’s hungry and desperate to play at this level. He plays with enthusiasm. I liked him in training and he’s got an intensity to his game. It’s up to us to try and improve him as a player and he can use us as a stepping stone to try and become better.
“I thought I might start him (against Weymouth) but I went slightly different with more experienced players so it didn’t quite work out.”
Teenage winger Dom Panesar-Dower has also signed a contract to the end of the season.
