DEFENDER Calvin Brooks has returned to the Bob Lucas Stadium after manager Jason Matthews swooped to recapture the services of the former Yeovil Town man this morning.
The 20-year-old, whose contract expired with the Glovers this week, has been a prime target for the Terras’ boss after impressing during a three-month loan spell earlier in the season, which ended with a 3-0 win at the Avenue against Dorchester Town on Boxing Day.
Brooks is set to go straight into the Terras’ squad for their trip to Slough Town tomorrow (3pm) having agreed a deal with the club until the end of the season.
Speaking about the capture of his man, manager Matthews told Echosport: “I am buzzing, we have lacked a centre-half in the last two or three games, we got away with it for two games and came unstuck in the week.
“Having Calvin back is a massive boost because he is very popular among the squad. It was important to get a familiar face in and it was a long two weeks waiting for his contract to elapse because I couldn’t have him for a certain number of days after his loan.
“It brings back part of the back four that have done so well for us this season.”
Brooks also tweeted: "Buzzing to be back!
"Can't wait to repay everyone and see the boys again! #terras."
Weymouth are also expected to name two further signings by the end of the day.
