A POPULAR market is returning to Dorchester for this year's town carnival.

Organisers have confirmed that The Anonymous Travelling Market (ATM) will once again visit Dorchester as part of the activities for the carnival weekend.

Emma House, who brings the ATM stall holders together with her friend Rae, said: "Our caravan of stalls and entertainers travel from place to place, usually beautiful or unusual spots, creating a truly unusual shopping experience.

"We’ve been to Dorchester before and we love it there, so we’re hoping lots of people will come and see us.

"We’re expecting 25 stalls to turn up providing lots of tempting treats from across the region from specialist makers and providers.”

The Anonymous Travelling Market does not simply provide an opportunity to shop, it celebrates the best of the South West for music, crafts, food and drink.

It promises to provide a vibrant, social event where an entire day can be spent perusing the stalls, listening to live music, lunching and meeting up with friends.

The ATM says it puts the buzz back into high streets and creates days in magical places for all the family.

Debs Thomas, chair for the 2016 carnival committee, said: "We’re really pleased the Anonymous Travelling Market is coming back to Dorchester.

"They always have lots of lovely things on show and I think it is a great addition to everything else going on over carnival weekend.

"We’re planning lots of other things over the weekend and you can keep up to date with the latest news on the carnival website or on our Facebook page."

The carnival procession will take place on Saturday, June 18 and it is free for anyone to take part.

It is not too late to enter and all organisations that take part will get some of the money donated.
