DORSET’S Jurassic Coast will be shown off to millions on the worldwide web.
In an added boost to the county’s profile, Microsoft’s internet search engine Bing will display the iconic landmark of Durdle Door on its homepage from today.
Users will be guided around the impressive image by ‘hotspots’, the first of which clicks through to a search page of articles with more information about the natural limestone arch.
Another link will lead internet users through to a gallery of beautiful images of the coastline.
Other links connect to pages about Lulworth Cove and to a pop video by the band Tears for Fears, whose 1984 single Shout was filmed at Durdle Door.
In addition to the links, the homepage links to Durdle Door on the map facility.
Bing says the pages will be seen by a potential 11 million people.
