ARTISTS and scientists are collaborating in a Jurassic Coast art project that has major funding from Arts Council England.
Ex Lab (Exploratory Laboratory) has a grant to commission a series of artworks for the World Heritage site.
Artists Simon Callery, Mat Chivers, Zachary Eastwood-Bloom, Simon Ryder and creative studio Proboscis, have been selected from more than 200 submissions.
After the research the works will be presented to various locations across Dorset.
At Hive Beach, Burton Bradstock, creative studio Proboscis will focus on the social science and how people relate to the area.
The artists Proboscis, Alice Angus and Giles Lane and designer and technologist Gary Stewart, and Stefan Kueppers most often work outside galleries and like to work with local people and communities and in collaboration with scientists, technologists and architects.
Sculptor Mat Chivers will work with the National Trust at Purbeck, Zachary Eastwood-Bloom will be in residence at Durlston Country Park, Simon Ryder is working on Portland Bill and Simon Callery in Sherborne.
