SPIES, celebrities and a dash of martini – shaken, not stirred – will be descending on Dorchester at a glamorous charity event to mark the opening of Brewery Square.
Skyfall, the latest Bond film, will be shown at the Odeon a day ahead of general release on Thursday, October 25.
The Wessex Autistic Society will host the event and will be auctioning off bespoke jewellery to raise cash for people suffering from the condition and their families.
Tony Armstrong, community and events fundraiser for the charity, said: “We are delighted to have been chosen to show the latest Bond film and use the event to raise vital funds for local people affected by autism.
“We are hoping people will see this as an opportunity to enjoy a preview cinema experience whilst enjoying the new three screen complex at the same time. Purchase your ticket and come and join the fun.”
As well as the screening of the brand new blockbuster, executive producer Anthony Waye, of Pine-wood Studios, will give a presentation about his work in helping to produce the popular franchise since the 1960s.
The much-anticipated 23rd Bond adventure will see the hero track down threats as MI6 comes under attack.
At two hours and 25 minutes long, the certificate 12 film is the longest running of all of the Bond movies.
Alan Escott, general manager of Odeon Dorchester, said: “We are thrilled to be able to involve such a worthwhile local charity in this preview screening of Skyfall at our brand new cinema complex, which will be opening its doors to Dorchester on Friday, October 26.
“This is an opportunity to be one of the first people to view a film at our brand new cinemas whilst raising money.”
Tickets cost £20, which includes canapés and drinks on arrival, and are available by visiting twasskyfall.eventbrite.co.uk or by calling 01305 213138. The event is black tie and begins at 7pm.
