A GROUP of Tibetan monks are coming to Portland for performances and art workshops.
From Saturday, August 4, the Portland Sculpture and Quarry Trust stone island event will see the Tashi-Lhunpo monks perform at Drill Hall Gallery, Easton Lane, Portland.
The Buddhist monks plan to hold Tibetan art workshops on Saturday from 11am for children and in the evening at 7.30pm they will perform a sacred chant and masked dance called ‘The Power of Compassion.’ Tickets are available from Drill Hall Gallery and will be £10 if seated and £5 if visitors bring their own cushions.
On Sunday from 10am, there will be a viewing of the Sand Mandala and a procession to Church Ope Cove as part of the Cultural Olympiad.
